Mrs. Charlene Takeuchi “Mrs. T”
Charlene is affectionately know as “Mrs. T” in her role as School Counselor at STMS on Wednesdays since 2008. She provides staff, students & their families support; In-Service trainings for staff and faculty annually; Parent Group trainings as requested or needed. She brings 40 years of experience in Education, Counseling & Therapy, Family System Advocacy, and Business.
Mrs. T possesses her Master of Art (MA) in Counseling & Applied Behavior Science from Bastyr University; a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Vocational Rehabilitation; Certification & Licensure as a Special Education Teacher K-12. She holds licenses in WA State as a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and a LMFT (licensed Marriage & Family Therapist).
Since 2008, Charlene has maintained and provided:
- Counseling & Therapy services via her private Family Systems practice (CSimpleWorks, PLLC) as a LMHC and a LMFT; (Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist)
- Supportive counseling to STMS students & their families in the service of their child’s education experience (School Counselor)
- Advocacy support services as the Kitsap PCAP Clinical Director and King county PCAP Clinical Director (Parent-Child Assistance Program offered in 11 WA State counties).
Her philosophy of “there is a solution for every problem:” and “God doesn’t make junk!”, embraces acceptance of culture and personal value systems and promotes healing through understanding via communication and behavior changes. Charlene is a member of St. Mark Parish in Shoreline.
Mr. John Wright
John is a new member of our staff at STMS and will be the School Counselor on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. He provides support to the students, their families, and the staff. John is looking forward to providing special training and groups through the year for students and families when requested or needed. He brings a clinical experience of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Biofeedback, and Nutritional Counseling.
Mr. Wright will be receiving his Masters of Science in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology (MSN CHP) from Bastyr University in the Spring of 2019 and his LMHCA (Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate). Mr. Wright’s philosophy revolves around a Biopsychosocial model that everything is connected and having a healthy self-requires a healthy mind, body, and spirit. John has previously worked at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health doing individual, family, and group counseling and is excited to be working at St. Thomas More.
