Mr. Dave Pippin
Mr. Dave Pippin teaches sixth grade—all subjects except science—and eighth grade history. This is second year at St. Thomas More, but he has 25 years of middle school teaching experience in both public and private schools. Although he grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of New York State, his first memory is from the Philippines. Dave attended the State University of New York at Buffalo as an undergraduate, where he majored in history, and went across town to Buffalo State College for his master’s degree in Special Education. Dave has worked with linguists on projects that promote scientific inquiry through language awareness, and in 2005 he encountered way too many of those folks when he attended the Summer Institute of Linguistics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dave has two daughters, one in college and one in high school, and his wife is a professor at Seattle University. He lives in Seattle in earshot of lions and wolves and bears.
